Today, we wrote heartfelt goodbye letters to our class butterflies. We had spent a lot of time observing them as they completed the life cycle in front of our eyes. It was really hard to let them go. A few of the butterflies hung around for a little while. Check out all of our photos here.

Miss McHugh and I transformed our classroom into an ocean to surprise students when they returned to school Tuesday morning. Day 1On the first day, students learned interesting facts about the ocean. Students shared observations about the properties of various ocean artifacts. Students wrote opinion pieces and supported their reasoning for loving the ocean with various details. day 2On the 2nd day, students learned about oil spills.
