Today we transformed our classroom into a zoo and became zookeepers! Students worked in teams to solve tricky area and perimeter word problems to determine which animal belonged in each zoo exhibit. They worked with their classmates to place each animal in the correct exhibit. We also kicked off our nonfiction text unit by reading a Scholastic News article about whether or not lion cubs should be in a zoo. Students used facts learned in the article to support their opinion about whether or not we should have zoos. Check out a few of photos from our fun day.

Students enjoyed our Halloween Party yesterday! They celebrated with fun stations such as a bat hand craft, mummy wrap, spider toss, and lots of snacks. Fortunately, the rain held out just long enough for our costume parade! Thank you to all our parents who helped make the day a success!
